Panasonic Lumix S Pro 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 O.I.S.
Also in this telephoto zoom, the Dual I.S. stabilization system combines the lens' O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) with the stabilizer in LUMIX S-series cameras to compensate for camera shake, enabling a 5.5-stop slower shutter speed. In the process, focus control with a maximum 480 fps high-speed sensor drive realizes fast, high-precision autofocus.
With an outstanding minimum focusing distance of 0.54m and 0.74m respectively, the LUMIX S 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 MACRO O.I.S. achieves a maximum magnification of 0.5x (at 300mm), enabling half-life-size macro photography and video. The rounded aperture with its 11 blades provides a particularly attractive bokeh over the entire Zoom range.
Yet the LUMIX S 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 MACRO O.I.S. is compact and lightweight for comfortable portability. The rugged, dust- and splash-proof construction also withstands use in harsh conditions, even at -10° C. In addition, the fluorine coating on the front element is water and oil repellent. The filter diameter is 77 mm.
The optimal arrangement of 17 lens elements in 11 groups with one UED (Ultra Extra-low Dispersion) lens, two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses and one UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens effectively suppresses both axial chromatic aberration at the telephoto end and magnification chromatic aberration at shorter focal lengths. In particular, the UHR lens achieves uniform image quality from the center to the edges of the frame while contributing to the compact size of the lens.
All LUMIX S-series lenses feature a mechanism that minimizes "focus breathing" for videographers when shooting video, a phenomenon that occurs when using interchangeable lenses designed primarily for still image capture. In addition, focus shifting is suppressed during Zooming, keeping the subject in focus and enabling better video capture.
