Pentax 50mm f1.4 HD FA
HD PENTAX-FA 50mm F1.4 with High Definition - high performance coating for high contrast and sharp images.
New body design- matching the current range
of digital SLR models. Retaining the dimensions of the original smc PENTAX-FA50mm F1.4 (from 1991), the exterior design matches the current DA-, D- and FA-series lenses, perfectly matching the K-series digital SLR cameras.
with the new design and as an external distinguishing feature, this lens features a green ring
.HD coating to improve imaging performance
The lens is equipped with the multi-layer HD (High Definition) coating developed by PENTAX. Compared to conventional multi-layer coatings, it improves light transmission while reducing average reflection in the visible spectrum. This means it can deliver clear, well-defined images with minimal flare and ghosting even under challenging lighting conditions such as backlighting
.SP coating
SP Coating is a special coating originated by PENTAX that provides excellent water and oil repellency performance. It is used on the front surface of the first high-performance lens to effectively protect the lens surface. This coating not only prevents dust, water droplets, oils and other substances from adhering to the lens, but also makes it easier to wipe off objects adhering to the lens
.Distinctive image reproduction
Thanks to its wide open aperture of F1.4, this lens captures images with a very shallow depth of field. Its eight-blade diaphragm control mechanism produces a smooth, natural bokeh (defocus) effect from open aperture to F2.8, and also minimizes the grazing effect of point light sources
.New exterior design
While retaining the dimensions of its base model - the smc PENTAX-FA50mm F1.4 - this lens features an all-new exterior design similar to that of the latest DA and D FA series lenses. This makes it a perfect match for K-series digital SLR cameras
.Compatibility with older cameras
Thanks to the aperture ring installed on the lens body and the coupling mechanism with the motor-driven AF system in the camera body, this lens is fully compatible with older K-mount digital SLR cameras and film format AF SLR cameras, allowing the photographer to retain all the camera functions of these models
.Since it is impossible to avoid the light diffraction phenomenon on the actual lens, the wave-optical MTF is more realistic. However, the geometric MTF is suitable if you only want to compare the effects of geometric aberration correction on the MTF
