Pentax FA 21mm f2.4 ED DC WR
For subjects such as landscapes, this premium lens delivers a sharp, clear image across the entire frame. It renders subjects in rich detail, showing leaves and branches clearly and sharply, and also reproduces the humidity of a foggy morning particularly impressively. You can get as close as seven inches to the subject, and capture images with exaggerated perspective thanks to the ultra-wide-angle focal length. For close-up shots, it provides a slight bokeh (blur) effect in the background while keeping the main subject sharp. As the background gradually and subtly fades out of focus, the image retains the prevailing atmosphere of the entire scene. With this lens, you can experience the joy of photography by changing the imaging characteristics depending on the shooting distance and the aperture you choose.
The optics include four ED and one Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements to minimize chromatic aberrations and prevent color bleeding, not only in the main focus area but also in the surrounding defocused areas. The lens also features a large aperture negative meniscus element, a biconvex aspherical glass optical element, and a high refractive power glass optical element in the first lens group to reduce overall size despite the ultra-wide-angle design and provide excellent imaging performance for crisp, clear, and sharp images without blurring, right to the edges.
The lens has undergone a series of visual image quality tests to optimize ambience and characteristics that cannot be easily expressed in numerical values.
The exterior design features high-quality materials and a solid appearance made possible by the use of a metallic material. The milled aluminum lens barrel and the many details convey a sense of precision, and the anodized outer parts of the lens in a silver finish convey an image of quality and brilliance. Thanks to these exceptional features, this lens brings more joy and inspiration to your photography.
