The 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM Art incorporates three FLD glass elements, three SLD glass elements, and three aspherical lens elements, including a large diameter aspherical element. Thanks to the effective arrangement of these high refractive index glass elements, the corrective effect of the FLD and SLD lenses is further enhanced. This optical system minimizes lateral chromatic aberration and other optical aberrations, ensuring outstanding high-resolution image quality.

The first element in the optical system is a large diameter aspherical lens. Optimizing the power distribution of this and the other lens elements minimizes distortion to 1% or even less*. As a result, points of light also appear as dots without streaking from the center of the image to the edge, and the entire image area benefits from uniform illumination. In addition, simulations from the development stage have helped minimize reflections and ghosting. The combination of these technologies ensures excellent ultra-wide-angle performance.

Compatible with aberration correction capabilities of Canon cameras

The lens with Canon mount is compatible with the aberration correction capabilities* of Canon cameras. This function is matched to the optical characteristics of the lens and performs in-camera corrections for edge illumination, chromatic aberration, distortion, and the like, thus improving image quality.

* Not all Canon cameras offer this function. In addition, the correction options may differ depending on the Canon camera model.

Professional Specifications

The Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM Art is equipped with highly effective dust and splash protection. To this end, the lens mount, focus ring, Zoomring, and front unit are all equipped with a special seal, allowing photographers to work in all weather conditions. In addition, the front lens of the lens is protected by a water- and oil-repellent coating, which also facilitates cleaning.
