Ultra-wide-angle lens that meets the optical performance standards of the Sigma

The lens construction consists of two SLD glass elements and three aspherical lens elements. Aspherical lenses are used for both the front and rear optics. This not only keeps the size of the lens compact, but also helps to correct lens aberrations. Therefore, the lens has a φ55mm filter thread (which is smaller than comparable lenses of similar focal length), making it easy to interchange filters between Sigma I series lenses with the same filter size.* Its design also helps to minimize flare and ghosting often associated with ultra-wide angle lenses, producing clear images in any environment. Magnetic metal lens cap

In addition to a normal plastic cap, I-series lenses are supplied with a special magnetic metal lens cap. This special metal cap is magnetically attached to the front of the lens. It is no exaggeration to say that this carefully crafted cap is the finishing touch for the I-series.
