The I-Series SIGMA 24mm F3.5 DG DN Contemporary brings out stunning detail and beautiful bokeh. Spark your creativity with this incredible wide-angle lens
The SIGMA I-Series is a line of compact, beautifully designed high-performance lenses for mirrorless camera systems. Part of the first collection is the SIGMA 24mm wide-angle prime lens, which expands the Contemporary lineup and offers outstanding portability and versatility.
The 24mm F3.5 DG DN Contemporary offers a very compact design, similar to that of the 45mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary, effectively the forerunner of this series. Despite its small size, it does not compromise on performance. Even with high-resolution full-frame cameras, it is capable of capturing the finest details.
Thanks to the very short closest focusing distance of about 10cm and the maximum magnification of 1:2, photographers can get to work freely and creatively without having to worry much about the distance between the lens and the subject. The 24mm F3.5 DG DN Contemporary is a versatile prime that makes creative visions a reality.
The rugged and elegant design of the I-Series makes for a compelling shooting experience.
I-Series|A new photographic experience - "Premium Compact Primes" for mirrorless camera users.
The SIGMA I-Series includes full-frame compatible lenses that provide mirrorless users with new and better alternatives - both in terms of the working experience with the lens and the impressive image results.
Mirrorless cameras bring with them the advantage of being able to keep them small and compact. This new 24mm optic is perfectly matched to these compact systems, and without compromising performance. The combination of outstanding optical quality and exceptional portability, previously unavailable in this form with DSLR systems, offers new opportunities to current and future generations of photographers. Powerful equipment has never been so handy.
Stunning detail and beautiful bokeh for any scene
The high resolving power of the 24mm F3.5 DG DN Contemporary extends across the entire image area. This ensures sharp wide-angle shots from the center of the frame to the edges, even more so at any aperture. The very short closest focusing distance of about 10cm and the maximum magnification of 1:2 allow photographers to work freely and creatively - from wide-angle landscape shots to close-ups of smaller objects.
In addition to the attractive bokeh, the lens also delivers nearly circular, out-of-focus highlights at the edges of the image. This makes it possible to create impressively sharp close-ups of an object against an out-of-focus background. A technique that is useful in many creative ways.
The lens features the latest optical design optimized for mirrorless systems. It incorporates high-precision, bare-molded aspherical glass lenses made with advanced processing technology, SLD glass, and high refractive index glass elements. All in all, it succeeds in combining high optical performance with compactness. Last but not least, a smooth focus drive system based on a quiet and fast stepper motor makes the 24mm F3.5 DG DN Contemporary an equally good choice for video shooting.
Exceptional I-Series build quality in a compact form factor
All I-Series lenses feature all-metal construction. The precision-cut aluminum parts not only give the barrel a sleek, stylish finish, but also provide excellent durability that enhances the overall quality of the product. Metal materials are likewise used for the internal construction, harmonizing with the control rings for added sturdiness. Manufactured using SIGMA's latest metalworking technology and also incorporated into the cine lens range for professional filmmakers, these high-precision components offer an exquisite feel as well as barely perceptible operating noise, making photographers want to use them again and again.
Looking at the 45mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary, the 24mm F3.5 DG DN Contemporary has the same filter diameter of 55mm, an identical outer diameter, as well as a similar overall length. Weighing just 225g, these two lenses can be used together as part of a high-specification, compact camera system that covers a wide range of shooting areas.
