Sigma 65mm f2.0 DG DN © for L-Mount
The ultra-sharp I-Series SIGMA 65mm F2 DG DN Contemporary is a compact, short telephoto prime that offers mirrorless camera users a stunning photographic experience.
The SIGMA I-Series is a line of compact, beautifully designed high-performance lenses for mirrorless camera systems. Part of the first collection is this high-quality SIGMA 65mm lens for everyday use, which expands the Contemporary product line. It combines outstanding resolving power with a small body perfectly weighted for mirrorless systems.
A 65mm lens has long been used by photo enthusiasts and is also popular for film shooting. At 65mm, it delivers a slightly more compressed perspective than standard lenses and opens up a variety of creative approaches for both photography and filmmaking.
This ultra-sharp 65mm F2 DG DN Contemporary can cleanly capture fine details even at full open aperture F2, producing a large and round bokeh.
In addition, this lens, with its pure metal body like any I-series lens has, and with its design that takes great care with haptics and even sound quality of operating noise, is fun to use and own.
I-Series|A new photographic experience - "Premium Compact Primes" for mirrorless camera users.
The SIGMA I-Series includes full-frame compatible lenses that provide mirrorless users with new and better alternatives - both in terms of lens working experience and impressive image results.
Mirrorless cameras bring with them the advantage of being able to keep them small and compact. This new 65mm optic is perfectly matched to these compact systems without compromising performance. The combination of outstanding optical quality and exceptional portability, previously unavailable in this form with DSLR systems, offers new opportunities to current and future generations of photographers.
New standards of optical performance for the Contemporary product line
The 65mm F2 DG DN Contemporary brings to light the highest optical performance at an aperture of F2 with a compact lens body perfectly designed for mirrorless systems. Longitudinal color aberrations, more common in medium telephoto and telephoto lenses and not effectively correctable by camera, are neatly corrected by the use of SLD glass, allowing details to be captured in absolute sharpness. The use of two high-precision, blank-pressed aspherical glass lenses corrects spherical and comatic aberrations as well as astigmatism. At the same time, this allows the lens design to be kept small. A combination of the latest optical design with advanced processing technology rounds everything out, helping the 65mm F2 DG DN Contemporary achieve its outstanding optical performance as well as compact size.
Thanks to successful control of spherical aberration, the lens delivers wonderful bokeh, and very low vignetting helps curb lemon-like or swirling bokeh. This gives photographers much better control over the out-of-focus areas in their images for subject composition. Last but not least, SIGMA's standard Anti-Ghosting and Anti-Flare technology ensures high-end performance in backlit conditions.
Exceptional I -Series build quality in a compact form factor
All I-Series lenses feature all-metal construction. The precision-cut aluminum parts not only give the barrel a sleek, stylish finish, but also provide superior durability that enhances the overall quality of the product. Metal materials are likewise used for the internal construction, harmonizing with the control rings for added sturdiness. These high-precision components, manufactured using SIGMA's latest metalworking technology and also incorporated into the cine lens range for professional filmmakers, offer an exquisite feel as well as barely perceptible operating noise, making photographers want to use them again and again.
The cover ring between the focus and aperture rings is manufactured to fit precisely, as is the case with the manufacture of the Art line's rear cylinders. This cover provides a good grip when attaching or removing the lens.
Compatible with the latest full-frame mirrorless cameras
The 65mm F2 DG DN Contemporary is compatible with full-frame mirrorless cameras with L-mount.
A stepper motor is used for fast focusing. Auto focus with automatic eye detection used in newer mirrorless cameras is also supported, making precise focusing of portraits, for example, a breeze.
