This compact Sigma lens is the smallest medium telephoto lens in its class. The lightweight 56mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary is particularly powerful despite its small size, offering excellent speed and beautiful bokeh. Distortion and vignetting are corrected in the best possible way, and thanks to the use of an SLD glass element, axial chromatic aberrations that are difficult to correct in image processing are efficiently corrected.
Even on APS-C format cameras, which tend to have a less pronounced bokeh compared to full-frame systems, effective bokeh and amazing brightness is provided. The lens can be used in a variety of ways, allowing for snapshots as well as portraits and night shots.
The combination of a stepper motor with the optical setup for AF video shooting gives you quiet and smooth autofocus. The camera's Eye AF functions and Face Detection provide continuous AF tracking on the face or eye, even if the subject moves during shooting.
