In order to achieve such a compact design, the lens construction was adapted to the possibilities of the camera function in order to correct vignetting and distortion in the best possible way. In addition, axial chromatic aberrations, which are difficult to correct during image processing, are efficiently corrected through the use of an SLD glass element. This lens impresses with a compact and lightweight construction combined with outstanding image quality.

The lens benefits from an F1.4 aperture to deliver effective bokeh and amazing brightness even on APS-C format cameras, which tend to have less pronounced bokeh compared to full-frame systems. The compact and lightweight body is perfect for everyday use and shooting a wide variety of scenes - from portraits to snapshots and night shots.

Smooth AF for video recordings

The combination of an optical structure for AF video recording with the use of a stepper motor enables smooth and quiet autofocus. Using the face detection or eye AF functions of the cameras, the focus remains continuously on the face or eye, even if the subject moves during recording.

Dust and splash-proof construction

The mount has a special seal that makes the lens an excellent choice for shooting in a wide range of conditions.
