The Sony SEL 16-55mm G is a standard Zoom APS-C lens with a constant F2.8 aperture, offering excellent G series image quality with outstanding all-around performance. The focal length range of 16-55mm for APS-C is equivalent to 24-82.5mm in full frame. The advanced design features two Advanced Aspherical elements that correct aberrations for superb resolution to the edge of the frame, while three ED (ExtraLow Dispersion) glass elements minimize chromatic aberrations and color bleeding.

To ensure superior image sharpness when shooting, an AR Nano Coating ensures the reduction of reflections and ghosting effects. The lens shines with a circular aperture with nine blades. This keeps the background soft if desired and creates beautiful bokeh effects.

Despite enormous speed at a constant F2.8 aperture, the compact lens weighs just 494 grams. The XD (extreme dynamic range) linear motor is extremely fast and - just like in the G Master series lenses - ensures precise and reliable autofocus and secure tracking of moving subjects.
