For many photographers, a fast 50 millimeter fixed focal length is a must in the camera bag.
The SEL50M28 lens from Sony has a maximum aperture of F2.8, shines with excellent image quality and bokeh, and shows what it can do not only in macro shots. With a reproduction scale of 1:1, anyone can get very close to even the smallest things. The focus mode can be selected on the lens, the focus range can be narrowed to be able to focus even faster, or the focus point can be fixed in one place with the focus hold button. The closest focusing distance is just 16 centimeters.
At just 236 grams, the lens is nice and light and compact as well. It also has enough protective mechanisms to keep dust and moisture away from the inside of the lens.
Especially in the macro range, the ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element makes itself felt in the image quality. Axial chromatic aberrations are effectively suppressed. The aperture is circular and therefore provides a smooth, pleasant bokeh. The mechanical and optical design of the lens has been specially tuned to block ghosting and lens flare, even without a sunshade.
