The 150-500mm F5-6.7 effectively covers the focal length range from 225mm to 750mm *1. It offers a compact size and impressive image quality right into the corners of the frame. Even at a focal length setting of 500mm, freehand photography is possible without any problems.

The integrated VC image stabilizer and the fast VXD autofocus enable sharp image results without a tripod, even at ultra-long focal lengths. At 150mm, the close-up distance is only 0.6m, so that the lens can also be used for expressive close-ups.

Handy 500mm lens for a new era of telephoto photography
With a length of 209.6mm and a diameter of 93mm, the 150-500mm F5-6.7 is an unusually compact 500mm ultra telephoto zoom lens for mirrorless full-frame cameras. Fully extended, it measures just 284.9mm in length and therefore remains remarkably manageable even at its longest focal length. To switch between 150mm and 500mm, the Zoomring only needs to be rotated by 75 degrees, less than a quarter of a turn. The desired focal length can be achieved with a small movement. As the image section can be adjusted very quickly, working is very intuitive.

Impressive image quality and compact housing
The optical design comprises 25 elements in 16 groups. Several special glass elements, including one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) and five LD (Low Dispersion) elements as well as two hybrid aspherical lenses, effectively correct optical image errors such as longitudinal chromatic aberrations or axial chromatic aberrations. As the 150-500mm F5-6.7 was originally developed for mirrorless full-frame cameras, it delivers exceptionally high image quality on the APS-C sensor across the entire Zoom range with impressive resolution both in the center and in the corners of the image.

Fast, precise and quiet autofocus with VXD autofocus
The 150-500mm F5-6.7 features the highly acclaimed VXD technology, which ensures very fast and precise focusing. The VXD linear motor works almost silently: unlike conventional AF systems, there is practically no operating noise or vibrations. This makes the lens ideal for photo and video recordings in environments where absolute silence is required.

VC image stabilization for sharp and detailed images
Despite its slim body, the 150-500mm F5-6.7 has the VC image stabilizer developed by Tamron. Depending on the subject, you can choose between three different VC modes:

• Standard mode for normal subject situations
• Drag mode for horizontal panning
• Maximum stabilization of the captured image (without viewfinder image stabilization)

This functionality enables excellent stabilization performance in any situation and efficient reduction of image blur caused by camera shake.

Impressive telephoto macro shots
The 150-500mm F5-6.7 offers an exceptionally short closest focusing distance for an ultra-telephoto lens and is therefore also suitable for close-ups. At a focal length of 150mm, photos can be taken at a distance of just 0.6m, which enables a reproduction scale of 1:3.1. At 500mm, the shortest focusing distance increases to just 1.8m, resulting in the largest possible reproduction scale of 1:3.7. With the 150-500mm, impressive close-ups can be achieved that are not possible with conventional ultra telephoto zoom lenses.
