The Tamron 11-20mm F2.8-Zoom is the world's first ultra-wide-angle Zoom lens for mirrorless APS-C cameras with Sony E-mount mount that features an aperture of F2.8. Despite the fast F2.8 aperture, the lens is very small (86.2 mm) and makes a perfectly balanced unit on a compact APS-C mirrorless camera body. It is the ideal ultra-wide angle lens for regular use. At 11mm ultra-wide, the lens performs amazingly at close range, achieving a shortest focusing distance of 0.15m and a maximum magnification of 1:4. This feature invites wide-angle macro shooting that takes advantage of the creative effects of naturally occurring distortion that only ultra-wide lenses offer.

The 11-20mm F2.8 is a high-quality ultra-wide-angle Zoom lens with a speed of F2.8 across the Zoom range. The 11mm focal length (KB equivalent 16.5mm) allows for outstanding dramatic perspectives with its wide field of view, while the 20mm focal length (KB equivalent 30mm) is ideal for spontaneous snapshots, for example in reportage or street photography. The 11-20mm lens is ideal for regular use. It is lightweight, compact and provides more freedom in a wide range of shooting situations.

Compact and lightweight
The 11-20mm F2.8 is approximately 86.2mm long and weighs only 335g. For a fast F2.8 ultra-wide-angle Zoom lens, it is remarkably compact and lightweight. Combined with an APS-C system camera, it forms a perfectly balanced, handy unit for photo and video shooting that is always at hand and can also be used optimally on a lightweight tripod or with a gimbal.

Outstanding optical performance
The design of the 11-20mm F2.8 includes 12 elements in 10 groups. Two precisely arranged GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements provide high resolution across the entire image. In addition, the 11-20mm F2.8 has one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) and two LD (LowDispersion) lens elements that provide sharp images and effective correction of optical aberrations. It also features BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) coating, which minimizes ghosting and flare. Even backlit images are characterized by high brilliance and maximum detail reproduction... The combination of features harmonizes perfectly to deliver sharp images with natural colors of high intensity.

Amazing close-up
The 11-20mm F2.8 offers a close-up distance of 15cm at 11mm focal length and 24cm at 20mm focal length. At the 11mm focal length setting, it has an astonishing maximum magnification ratio of 1:4, allowing impressive close-ups with a dramatic gradation of scale. The large aperture allows for attractive focus-blur effects with very expressive bokeh.

67mm filter size
Like almost all TAMRON lens models for Sony E-mount cameras, this lens also features a uniform 67mm filter size, which enables the mutual exchange of filters such as PL and ND filters as well as lens caps.
