VXD technology is characterized by particularly quiet and agile focusing that achieves very high precision even in dynamic situations. The shortest possible focusing distance of only 17 cm and the maximum magnification of 1:3.8 in the wide-angle range make the lens also recommendable for expressive close-ups.

The 40mm standard focal length is primarily suited for snapshots, portraits, and food photos, and the 20mm wide-angle Utra focal length for stunning landscape shots with striking depth - something that's difficult to achieve with a conventional fast standard zoom lens with an initial focal length of 24mm.
