The optical construction consists of 9 groups with 11 lens elements, including two double-sided aspherical elements, five with abnormal partial dispersion and floating elements for optimum focusing performance. An outstanding multi-coating and apochromatic color correction round off the technically sophisticated design.
The 12 aperture blades form a circular opening at F2.0, F2.8, F5.6 and F16, which enables a circular and also very balanced bokeh from a point light source.

The objective was a brilliant and exceptional imaging performance in all facets and this was achieved without compromise!

The selective aperture system optionally enables silent aperture adjustment in video mode (the VM version only has a rasterized aperture setting).

The Voigtländer 35mm / 1:2.0 APO-Lanthar aspherical VM is optimized for Leica M cameras, but can also be used on Fujifilm X cameras and Nikon Z models. The corresponding Nah+ system adapters are available for this purpose. It is also somewhat smaller and lighter than the E-mount version.

In the wide-angle focal length range, the Voigtländer 35mm / 1:2.0 APO-Lanthar aspherical sets a new standard in the range and offers a wide range of photographic possibilities for the demanding user. The unusual aperture design also allows a high degree of creative freedom and promises a very individual look.
