The low-light properties have been optimized across the entire ISO range: Image noise has been significantly reduced and the maximum sensitivity has been increased to ISO 32,000 (expandable up to ISO 102,400). This means you can reliably record with high image quality even in low light.

With the 61-point AF system, which can track even abrupt movements, you always have the action in focus. To achieve this, the EOS 5D Mark IV's 61 AF points1 have been distributed over a larger area - an 8 percent expansion in the vertical direction and a 24 percent expansion in the horizontal direction. This increases the freedom in the choice of subject placement for image composition.

Fast focus tracking even in low light
An extremely sensitive AF sensor ensures the focusing performance of the EOS 5D Mark IV, which is guaranteed down to -3 EV2. In Live View mode, the Dual Pixel CMOS AF is even sensitive down to -4 EV3.

First-class AF precision, even with long Zooms
Nature and sports photographers often have to work with super telephoto lenses and extenders in order to capture their subjects in full format. With 61 AF fields, 21 of which are cross-type sensors up to f/1:81, precise focusing is much easier.

150,000 pixel metering sensor
The EOS 5D Mark IV uses a special 150,000 pixel metering sensor (RGB + IR) to carry out precise exposure metering. This sensor also works with the camera's AF system to detect and track colored subjects and faces.

A processor for the right performance
At the heart of the EOS 5D Mark IV is the fast DIGIC 6+ processor that controls the camera. This includes the conversion of sensor data into high-quality image data, which is characterized by a high level of detail, low image noise, precise colors and natural skin tones.
