Dust and splash protection
The Lumix G F4-5.6/ 100-300 mm super telephoto lens is one of the smallest and lightest in its class. The Zoom of the MicroFourThirds lens, which is only 12.6 cm long (front lens to bayonet) and weighs around 520 g, covers the telephoto range between 100 and 300 mm (200-600 mm corresponding to 35 mm format) and is designed for the extreme telephoto range, such as for sports or wildlife photography. Its construction of 17 lens elements in 12 groups includes an ED element in the first lens group for perfect image contrast and color reproduction. The continuous close-up limit is 150 centimeters. Of course, it is equipped with Panasonic's proven optical image stabilizer (OIS), enabling maximum sharpness even at the longest focal lengths and when shooting at slower shutter speeds, without the need to use a tripod right away. Seven blades form a circular aperture that allows for beautifully even blurring of subject details outside the depth-of-field range at wide apertures. The metal bayonet ensures high robustness. Sophisticated multi-coating of the lens elements effectively reduces ghosting and fogging and provides crisp contrast at all aperture and focal length settings. The lens also supports face detection and contrast AF. The smallest aperture has a speed of F22, and the filter diameter is 67 mm.
