Rode Wireless PRO Customer Return
Digital 2-channel wireless microphone system
In addition to spectacular technical features, the Wireless PRO impresses with its included original accessories, which alone have a value of 388.00 EUR. Wireless PRO is versatile and compatible with cameras, iPhone®, smartphone, Mac and PC - USB cables are included. Wireless PRO is ideal for interviews and other occasions where two sound sources need to be recorded simultaneously and separately
.The small transmitter modules can be conveniently attached to clothing with their clip or to a belt if you prefer to use the supplied Lavalier II microphones. The output on the receiver is two-channel, either analog via the 3.5 mm TRSS socket or digital via USB-C. If you output the sound via USB-C, you can connect a commercially available headset to the receiver. This not only allows you to listen in, but also to record a third microphone signal at the same time
.The sound quality is top-notch in both analog and digital: crystal clear and ready for immediate transmission. The transmitter and receiver have an internal battery that lasts for up to 7 hours. RØDE uses the 2.4 GHz band for radio transmission, which is free of charge and registration. The Wireless PRO transmitters have a range of 260 (!) meters in a clear line of sight
.The transmitter modules (TX)
Each of the two 4x4 cm small transmitter modules already has a high-quality microphone built in, which has been optimally tuned for voice transmission. The clip on the back makes it easy to attach the transmitter module to clothing. If the transmitter module is too conspicuous in the picture, the 3.5 mm TRS socket on the side can be used to connect an external microphone - for example the included Lavalier II
.GainAssist technology
GainAssist, an intelligent automatic level control that permanently adjusts the internal gain setting in the transmitter module to the respective sound source, is very helpful
. In this way,you are protected from surprises and the audio signal is always transmitted at a healthy level and with the best possible intelligibility
.Recording in the transmitter module, 32-bit float audio
Wireless PRO offers a recording function directly in the transmitter module and an internal 32 GB audio memory for this purpose, which is sufficient for more than 40 hours. The recording is uncompressed as a WAV file. Wireless PRO is also the first radio link in the world to deliver 32-bit floating point audio. The advantage: as long as the limit sound pressure level of 123 dB is not exceeded, it is virtually impossible to distort the signal through digital clipping. Very loud passages with flattened level peaks can be subsequently compensated for during post-production in a DAW compatible with 32-bit float by normalizing
.SMPTE timecode generator
Wireless PRO uses SMPTE timecode with LTC coding. The receiver module always acts as the master, which automatically transmits the timecode to the transmitter modules and outputs it as an audio signal on the right channel. The required frame rate (23.98 fps, 24 fps, 25 fps, 29.97 drop frame, 29.97 or 30 fps) and the desired mode (Real Time or Continuous) can be set using the RØDE Central configuration software
.The receiver module (RX)
The receiver module can be easily attached to the camera's hot shoe. The module is connected to the camera's 3.5 mm microphone input using the spiral cable supplied. The signal can also be output digitally to a computer or a Smart- or iPhone® using the appropriate USB cable (included). In this case, you can use the module's four-pin TRRS socket to connect a headset, which allows you to listen in and record a third microphone signal at the same time.
Youcan also set whether the transmitter signals should be output separately (split) or combined (merge)
.Lavalier II
Two premium clip-on microphones, the Lavalier II, are included in the scope of delivery. With its straight frequency response, gentle presence boost and coloration-free sound character, the Lavalier II delivers outstanding sound quality and is suitable for practically any type of speaker. The microphone is connected via its high-quality 1.2 m ribbon cable. The 3.5 mm plug has a union nut so that it can be screwed onto the microphone input of the transmitter module
.Accessories
The three modules are supplied in an elegant charging case with a battery capacity of 4500 mAh, which allows the modules to be fully charged twice. On the back of the case is the USB-C port and next to it a charging status LED with test button. A second, externally identical case is used to transport the remaining accessories: 2x Lavalier II microphone, 2x MagClip GO magnetic holder, 5 windscreens, a USB-C to Lightning cable, a USB-C to USB-C cable and a SuperSpeed USB-C to USB-C cable
