Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG OS HSM (A) Nikon Customer return
The fast standard Zoom lens is perfect for today's high-resolution digital cameras. Three SLD (Super Low Dispersion) glass elements and four aspherical lens elements ensure a reduction in aberrations. To ensure excellent image quality from the center to the edge of the photo, the optical system minimizes coma, where the light rays would be scattered and imaged like a comet's tail, and lateral chromatic aberrations that cannot be corrected via the aperture control. The optical system also reduces distortions that often occur in wide-angle shots, resulting in exceptional optical performance throughout the Zoom range.
An even more beautiful bokeh
When the aperture is wide open, this lens enables exceptional photographic expression. The focused subject area is exceptionally sharp, while the background has a beautiful bokeh with only minimal spherical aberrations. As fast Zoom lenses are often used with the aperture wide open, SIGMA has paid full attention to the appearance of the bokeh to achieve the perfect circular shape.
Using advanced technology for aspherical lens processing
Aspherical lenses of modern high-performance lenses require special expertise in design and manufacturing. The first products to incorporate this technology were the SIGMA 12-24mm F4 DG HSM Art and SIGMA 14mm F1.8 DG HSM Art, both of which utilize a large 80mm diameter aspherical lens element as the front lens element. Building on the success of these predecessors, the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG HSM Art also incorporates an aspherical lens element that achieves an extremely high resolution.
This element is considerably thicker in the center than at the edges and the shaping of this unusual form is a masterpiece of manufacturing technology. This extremely fine surface allows the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG HSM Art to produce a very natural and soft bokeh without the visible concentric rings often found on conventional aspherical lens elements.
The OS function and the Hyper Sonic Motor guarantee success with every shot
The Optical Stabilizer (OS) impresses with its powerful stabilizing effect and can therefore be used in many different situations. The newly designed, large Hyper-Sonic Motor (HSM) delivers 1.3 times more torque than its predecessor and offers exceptionally stable performance even at low speeds.

Lens barrel with high rigidity
As standard Zoom lenses are often used as general purpose lenses and therefore frequently used, the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG HSM Art is designed to withstand the tougher shooting conditions that professional photographers face.
For this reason, the lens barrel is largely made of metal, while the outer moving parts are made of a thermally stable composite material (TSC) that is highly resistant to thermal expansion and contraction. This structure not only contributes to the exceptional optical performance of the lens, but also to its high strength and reliable processing.
Dust and splash-proof mount
As the mount of the lens is particularly susceptible to dust and other foreign bodies, the rubber seal ensures peace of mind. The front lens element also has a water and oil repellent coating so that the lens works well in the rain, near water or in other difficult conditions.
Includes Nikon's electromagnetic aperture mechanism
In the Nikon variant, the lens features the electromagnetic aperture mechanism and is therefore able to process the signals from the camera body. This feature ensures precise aperture control and consistent performance with automatic exposure (AE) in continuous shooting mode.
