It offers advanced performance and functionality for truly high-quality cinematic expression. Industry-leading Sony image sensor technology ensures high sensitivity, low noise and wide dynamic range, delivering 4K Super 35 resolution for stunning image quality. The ILME-FX30 features S-Cinetone™, adopted from digital cinema cameras such as the VENICE 2 from Sony and delivers natural midtones, soft colors and gorgeous highlights that are essential for cinematic expression. Three modes are available for shooting, with the S-Log3 gamma curve providing smooth cinematic color gradation. Imported custom mapping LUTs can be recorded to minimize color correction in post-production. Dual Base ISO (800 / 2500) allows you to capture the best quality images in different lighting conditions.

Advanced AF performance

The ILME-FX30 offers highly reliable and accurate autofocus performance with wide-area tracking across the entire frame. Real-time eye AF, which follows the face and eyes (of people and animals), keeps the subject in focus. Focus is maintained precisely and consistently over a wide area, even at shallow depth of field or when tracking fast-moving subjects with real-time tracking. Stable AF and flexible focusing are available for a variety of shooting situations. AF Assist, Focus Map and Breathing Compensation are great auxiliary functions.

Compact and cageless design

The ILME-FX30 has a compact and lightweight shape designed for portability and efficiency. The housing has five threaded holes for accessories, eliminating the need for a cage, and features an XLR handle for optimal flexibility, stability and comfort during extended handheld shooting. Quickly access your favorite elements with the new main menu. Focus on composition and framing with the optimized standby mode for filming. Shooting lights and highlighted shooting indicators provide clear confirmation of the current shot. The flexible, high-resolution touchscreen LCD monitor allows wide positioning and framing freedom for gimbal shots. The Zoom lever controls compatible motorized Zoom lenses and enables the use of Clear Image Zoom with non-motorized Zoom and fixed focal lengths with excellent image quality. Auto and manual modes for aperture, shutter speed and ISO can be set independently for flexible exposure mode. Vertical side markers for checking the image section in horizontal orientation.

Highly expandable

The two XLR audio inputs enable high-quality audio recordings. With an optional XLR microphone, digital audio data can be transmitted directly to the camera - for excellent audio quality with a very clean audio signal. Other connections include USB Type-C®, Multi/Micro USB, microphone, headphones and a Multi Interface Shoe with integrated digital audio interface. All these connectivity options offer a wide range of expansion possibilities for a variety of recording requirements. The ILME-FX30 also supports UVC (USB Video Class) and UAC (USB Audio Class) standards and can be connected via USB to a compatible device to serve as a high-performance webcam.

Two full-size XLR connectors

Two full-size XLR connectors (XLR/TRS combination) with 48 V phantom power and 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack provide connection to external microphones and together offer three recording formats, including 24-bit 4-channel recording.
