Leofoto Ranger series - the ultra-light but enormously stable carbon tripods

Quasi the nature of the compact and lightweight Leofoto Ranger tripods is nature. On days of photo stalking, every gram and every millimeter counts in order to minimize the volume and weight of the luggage. But all equipment must not only save space and weight, but also meet very high requirements. Stability under all circumstances, that is the requirement.

The

required lightness is ensured by the material, carbon

,

whose stability and freedom from vibration "grows" with the number of its layers. Apart from the Traveler tripod series and the monopods, Leofoto tripods are made of ten-layer carbon. The deliberately modular design of all tripods in the Leofoto Ranger series - the center column is not built in, but only attached when required - makes it possible to limit luggage to the bare essentials.

With their small diameters, the head plates of the Ranger series are also subordinate to the space-saving concept. And because they are CNC-milled from strong aircraft aluminum, they fit perfectly. The head plate screw has a 3/8" thread in each case. The tripod legs - each consisting of three to five leg elements, depending on the model - glide smoothly and without twisting.

They

are fixed in place by securely gripped, rubberized twist locks. Unwanted vibrations are absorbed by the rubber feet. If necessary, they can be replaced with the supplied stainless steel spikes or optional snow and sand feet.

Leofoto Ranger LS-284C Carbon Tripod - extra strong with lightness

All carbon tripods of the Ranger series are trimmed for lightness. For this reason they come without a built-in center column. However, you do not have to do without it. Because it is supplied in the set - also with the Ranger LS-284C - and can be screwed on.

Every photographer decides for himself whether he prefers to equip his luggage with or without a center column. It increases the working height up to 1,585 mm. The Ranger LS-284C can also make itself completely flat. The minimum working height of only 145 mm may demand some ground acrobatics from photographers, but it is enormously favorable for macro shots of small things and ground creatures or even pictures from the frog's perspective. The

strong tripod legs, each consisting of four smoothly gliding segments, have diameters of 28, 25, 22 and 19 mm

. This

alone indicates that this tripod is much stronger (more stable) than the identically tall Ranger LS-254C.

Leofoto LH-30 Ball Head - small and powerful at the same time

Precisely CNC-machined from black anodized aircraft aluminum, with built-in bubble level. Horizontal rotation of 360° and vertical tilt up to 90° of the ball (30 mm diameter) are controlled and held by the powerful wing nut. With a net weight of only 308 g, the Leofoto LH-30 ball head can bear a load of 15 kg.

A

height of 80 mm means that the center of gravity is low, which also reduces adverse vibrations.
