I was looking for a geared head for the photo studio and for outdoor use.Due to the extensive range of NOVOFLEX equipment in my inventory and the very good experiences I have had with it, I wanted another product from NOVOFLEX.The two model series "KOPF² gear head" and "QUBE goniometer head" were available for selection. I was able to take a closer look at both model series at an event at the NOVOFLEX stand. The fact that I ended up purchasing one product from each of the two model series is due to the areas of my photography with the respective intended use.The geared head in the KOPF²-BASIC version is being reviewed here. The technical data and product description can be found on the NOVOFLEX website. Contrary to the information on the website, the quick coupling and the panorama plate are not pre-assembled on this geared head, which was purchased from a specialist photo shop, but this is not a disadvantage; more on this in a moment.The customer receives the basic model KOPF², the quick coupling Q=MOUNT and the panorama plate PANORAMA=II in a reusable cardboard box with foam insert. The three units are individually and securely housed thanks to punched-out profiles in the foam. Included are two Allen keys, a video pin (locking screw) and an additional ¼" mounting screw.For the final assembly of the gear tilt, first loosen the clamping levers on the joints by turning them counter-clockwise. Für das Fotostudio und für den Einsatz im Freien habe ich einen Getriebeneiger gesucht.
Vorbelastet durch ein umfangreiches Equipment von NOVOFLEX in meinem Bestand und den damit verbunden sehr guten Erfahrungen, sollte es wieder ein Produkt aus dem Hause NOVOFLEX sein.
Zur Auswahl standen die beiden Modellreihen „Getriebeneiger KOPF²“ und „Goniometerkopf QUBE“. Beide Modellreihen konnte ich mir auf einem Event am Stand von NOVOFLEX genauer ansehen. Dass es bei mir am Ende die Anschaffung von je einem Produkt aus beiden Modellreihen wurde, liegt an den Bereichen meiner Fotografie mit dem jeweiligen Einsatzzweck.

Rezensiert wird hier nun der Getriebeneiger in der Version KOPF²-BASIC. Die technischen Daten und die Produktbeschreibung sind der NOVOFLEX-Webseite zu entnehmen. Entgegen der Angabe auf der Webseite sind bei diesem Getriebeneiger, der im Fotofachhandel gekauft wurde, die Schnellkupplung und die Panoramaplatte nicht vormontiert, was aber kein Nachteil ist; dazu gleich mehr.
Der Kunde bekommt das Grundmodell KOPF², die Schnellkupplung Q=MOUNT und die Panoramaplatte PANORAMA=II in einem wiederverwendbaren Karton mit Schaumstoffeinsatz. Durch ausgestanzte Profile im Schaumstoff sind die drei Einheiten einzeln und sicher untergebracht. Beigefügt sind zwei Inbusschlüssel, ein Video-Pin (Sicherungsschraube) und eine zusätzliche ¼“ Montageschraube.
Für die Endmontage des Getriebeneigers sind zunächst die Klemmhebel an den Gelenken durch Linksdrehung zu lösen. Nun werden die Geräteaufnahmebügel durch Drehung an den Gelenken grob ausgerichtet. Dabei kann das Gelenk des oberen Geräteaufnahmebügels wahlweise links oder rechts positioniert werden.
Prinzipiell ist es egal, welcher Geräteaufnahmebügel oben bzw. unten ist. Die Funktion bleibt ohne Einschränkung erhalten; lediglich die Beschriftung bei den Klemmhebeln steht gegebenenfalls auf dem Kopf. Dafür hat man die Möglichkeit, die Handhabung für Links- und Rechtshänder noch individueller anzupassen. Erfolgt die Endmontage nach Bedienungsanleitung, befinden sich die blauen Feineinstellschrauben beim Blick auf die Klemmhebel jeweils links vom Gelenk. Dank modularer Konstruktionen ist die Verwendung von vorhandenem Equipment (z. B. Schnellkupplungen und Panoramaplatten) möglich und man benötigt dann nur das Grundmodell des Getriebeneiger KOPF². Eine Beschreibung aller Möglichkeiten würde den Rahmen dieser Rezension sprengen. Da muss jeder selbst nachschauen, was möglich ist.
In der Praxis hat man einen stabilen Getriebeneiger, der sich präzise einstellen lässt und besonders für fotografische Bereiche geeignet ist, die eine genaue Ausrichtung der Kamera erfordern.
