Leofoto Ballhead NB-46 + Release Plate NP-60
649 : 30.000. This is the ratio of low dead weight to enormously high load capacity of this powerful ball head, measured in grams of course. By far not every ball head on the world market achieves this super favorable ratio of weight to force. Also, there are probably few camera-lens combinations that the NB-46 could not reliably carry.
In order to achieve such impressive performance values at low weight, Leofoto pursues one thing above all else, namely a consistently strict principle in the choice of materials and manufacturing: Only highly durable aircraft aluminum alloys (anodized black in this case) are used, which are always CNC-milled, accurate to fractions of a millimeter. Because only when all the components of a ball head fit and "harmonize" with each other with absolute precision can top performance be achieved. The extremely smooth movements of the NB-46 ball, which measures 46 mm in cross-section, are confirmation of the precision of the manufacturing process. A conveniently sized rotary knob makes it easy to control and fix the ball with pinpoint accuracy - it can also be angled up to 90°. Considering the power of the NB-46 ball head, the overall height of just 110 mm can be described as very low. Thus, the center of gravity is also quite low, which in turn "unsolicited" vibrations but quite attenuated.
The carefully laser-engraved scale around the base (which also "houses" the 3/8" tripod thread) and the spirit level (circular bubble) integrated into the quick coupling facilitate all adjustments and horizontal pans, which can be achieved in a precise and balanced manner. Most importantly, the NB-46 ball head can be pivoted twice. On the one hand, the base can be rotated 360°. Independently of this, however, this is also possible with the NP-60 quick coupling from Leofoto, which is included here. And of course, it likewise has its own very finely laser-engraved scale. The option of being able to tilt twice through 360° allows for quicker adjustments, but also greatly increases the potential of possible camera alignments. With all this, there is no question that the NP-60 quick release is on the one hand also Arca-Swiss compatible and on the other hand quite interchangeable with other quick release types if required.
