Olympus M. Zuiko Digital ED 12-45mm f4.0 PRO
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-45mm F4.0 PRO is a very compact and lightweight standard zoom lens with a constant aperture. Photographers who travel a lot will appreciate lightweight equipment that doesn't require them to compromise on image quality. The Zoomlens, like all models in the PRO series, is rugged and weatherproof, and impresses with its outstanding imaging performance.
Compact and lightweight design
The lens construction of the M.Zuiko ED 12-45 mm F4.0 PRO is similar to that of the proven ED 12-40 mm F2.8 PRO. The effective placement of special lenses is the basis for the very lightweight and small design with a focal length of 24 to 90 mm (35 mm equivalent). The focusing lens, also small and lightweight, provides fast and accurate AF for capturing any subject. The body is dustproof, splashproof as well as freezeproof and sealed in 9 places.
Fixed aperture over the entire Zoom range and high resolution
Aspherical lenses and ZERO (Zuiko Extra-Low Reflection Optical) coating, which provides clear imaging performance, reduce aberrations, ghosting and reflections. Light loss at the edges of the image is suppressed. This results in high-resolution images with perfect imaging performance right to the edges. Since the aperture value remains constant throughout the focal length, exposure is easily controlled when Zooming and shooting video.
Outstanding macro capabilities
The M.Zuiko ED 12-45mm F4.0 PRO is also capable of macro shooting with a maximum magnification of 0.25x (35mm equivalent = 0.5x) over the entire Zoom range. The closest focusing distance is 12 cm (wide angle) and 23 cm (telephoto). Focus stacking is also possible. With this function, several successive images are taken with different areas of focus, which are then merged into one image with a large depth of field.
