The M1 microphone from Rode uses a cardioid neodymium capsule and is aimed primarily at rock, blues, soul and pop vocalists who are looking for a loud, feedback-insensitive live microphone that fits perfectly in the hand with minimal handling noise.

The frequency response of the M1 has been optimally tuned for live vocals, and the pop filter integrated into the basket effectively softens explosive consonants - without sacrificing transparency. In principle, the M1 sounds a touch more "hi-fi" than other live mics, but still has the important rich mids to easily hold its own against drums and guitar amps.
