Rode Wireless PRO
Digital 2-channel wireless microphone system
In addition to spectacular technical features, the Wireless PRO impresses with its included original accessories, which alone are worth 388.00 EUR. Wireless PRO can be used in a variety of ways and is compatible with cameras, iPhone®, smartphone, Mac and PC - corresponding USB cables are included. Wireless PRO is ideal for interviews and other occasions when two sound sources need to be recorded simultaneously and separately. The
small transmitter modules can be conveniently attached to clothing with their clamp, or to a belt if you prefer to use the included Lavalier II microphones. The output at the receiver is two-channel, either analog via the 3.5 mm TRSS jack or digital via USB-C. If you output the sound via USB-C, you can connect a standard headset to the receiver. This not only allows you to listen in, but also to record a third microphone signal at the same time. The
sound quality is at its finest in both analog and digital: crystal clear and ready to transmit immediately. The transmitter and receiver have an internal battery that lasts for up to 7 hours. RØDE uses the toll- and registration-free 2.4 GHz band for radio transmission. The Wireless PRO transmitters have a range of 260 (!) meters with a clear line of sight
.The transmitter modules (TX)
Each of the two 4x4 cm small transmitter modules already has a high-quality microphone built in, which has been optimally tuned for voice transmission. With the clip on the back, the transmitter module can be easily attached to clothing. If the transmitter module is too conspicuous in the picture, you can use the 3.5 mm TRS jack on the side and connect an external microphone there - for example the included Lavalier II
.GainAssist technology
Very helpful is GainAssist, an intelligent automatic level control, which permanently adjusts the internal gain setting in the transmitter module to the respective sound source
. Inthis way, you are protected from surprises and the audio signal is always transmitted at a healthy level and with the best possible intelligibility
.Recording in the transmitter module, 32-bit float audio
Wireless PRO offers a recording function directly in the transmitter module and for this purpose an internal 32 GB audio memory, which is sufficient for more than 40 hours. Recording is uncompressed as a WAV file. Wireless PRO is also the first wireless link in the world to deliver 32-bit floating point audio. The advantage: as long as you don't exceed the limiting sound pressure level of 123 dB, it is virtually impossible to distort the signal through digital clipping. Very loud passages with flattened level peaks can be subsequently compensated for by normalization during post production in a DAW compatible with 32 Bit Flo
at.SMPTE Timecode Generator
Wireless PRO uses SMPTE timecode with LTC encoding. The receiver module always acts as the master, automatically transmitting the timecode to the transmitter modules and outputting it as an audio signal on the right channel.
TheRØDE Central configuration software can be used to set the required frame rate (23.98 fps, 24 fps, 25 fps, 29.97 drop frame, 29.97 or 30 fps) and the desired mode (Real Time or Continuous)
.The receiver module (RX)
The receiver module can be conveniently attached to the hot shoe of the camera. The module is connected to the 3.5 mm microphone input of the camera with the included spiral cable. The signal can also be output digitally to a computer or a smartphone or iPhone® via the matching USB cable (included). In this case, you can use the module's four-pin TRRS jack to connect a headset, which allows you to listen in and simultaneously record a third microphone signal.
It isalso possible to set whether the transmitter signals are to be output separately (split) or combined (merge)
.Lavalier II
Two premium clip-on microphones, the Lavalier II, are included in the scope of
delivery. With its straight frequency response, smooth presence enhancement and coloration-free sound character, the Lavalier II delivers outstanding sound quality and is suitable for virtually any type of speaker. The microphone is connected via its high-quality 1.2 m ribbon cable. The 3.5 mm plug has a cap nut so that it can be screwed onto the microphone input of the transmitter module
.Accessories
In order to be mobile flexible, the three modules are delivered in a noble charging case, whose battery capacity is 4500 mAh, which allows complete charging of the modules twice. On the back of the case is the USB-C port and next to it a charging status LED with test button. A second, externally identical case is used to transport the rest of the accessories: 2x Lavalier II microphone, 2x MagClip GO magnetic mount, 5 windshields, a USB-C to Lightning cable, a USB-C to USB-C cable, and a SuperSpeed USB
-C to USB-C cable.
