This compact electrocondenser microphone is ideal for handheld camcorders and captures high-quality sound. The "ECM-MS2" from Sony is only 137 mm long and prevents accidental vignetting of the microphone in the picture. Transporting and packing is quite easy thanks to the short length, so you can comfortably take the microphone with you.
When you disconnect the right channel from the power supply, it switches from stereo to mono operation. The sound is reproduced naturally in professional quality. In mono mode, the frequency range is 70 Hz to 20 kHz with a sensitivity of -36 dB, while in stereo mode, a frequency range of 80 Hz to 20 kHz is covered with a sensitivity of -32 dB.
External resonance, vibration and RF noise are minimized by the metal housing. Electronically balanced operation is achieved with an external power supply of 48 volts. Strong wind noise is also cancelled by the included "spring boa" windscreen. A cable tie is included so you can secure the disconnected microphone cable in mono mode.
